Despite his impressive tenure, Tom wasn’t always a Realtor®. Before becoming an agent, he was a 5th-grade teacher. In this role, he learned a great deal about managing timelines, effectively dealing with different personalities and needs, the importance of preparation, and coordinating groups successfully. For Tom, becoming a real estate agent felt like a natural progression from his job as a teacher.
What’s perhaps more interesting is why Tom entered real estate. After buying his first home, he became fascinated with the home-buying process. His experience as a first-time buyer was positive, and he wanted to offer that same experience to others.
Honesty is the guiding force behind Tom’s real estate career. This means that sometimes, he needs to ensure his clients have realistic market expectations. Conversations offering a hefty dose of reality are never easy, but Tom would rather his clients have all the facts rather than unachievable goals.
This commitment to integrity extends into every aspect of working with clients. When Tom doesn’t have an answer, he finds someone who does. He’s a big believer in tapping into the expertise of his working colleagues, agents, lenders, inspectors, contractors, and title professionals.
Tom assists residential real estate clients across the Eastern Shore, including Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Kent, Dorchester, and Talbot counties. He enjoys volunteering with the Guys Read program at local schools and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom also supports the local Hospice, Caroline County SPCA, Adkins Arboretum, and the QAC Arts Council.
When he isn’t working with clients, Tom enjoys the outdoors, picking or scrapping with his sons, listening to local live music, biking, or sitting around a fire with his wife and children. He is also an avid reader, baker, and ardent supporter of Philadelphia sports teams.
